Skateboarding Tricks

I just want any one that enters this page to know that Rollar Bladers SUCK!!

The Ollie

Step one: Place your front foot in the middle of the board and your back
foot on the tip of the tail (or back). This is your preparatory foot
placement, it will help you to go higher. Step two: With your back foot you want to "tap" your tail onto the ground.
Do this by smashing your tail downward while jumping up. Once the tail has
"popped" off the ground, slide your front foot up from the middle of your
board toward the nose (or front). The secret to this trick is timing your
"jump" with your "tap," and your "tap" with your "foot slide" this takes
practice, so be patient and you will improve. Tip: You are jumping off of your back wheels, before your tail
actually hits the ground. Step three: Leveling off. Once airborne, the "foot slide" levels your board
out. The "foot slide" is the process of scraping your foot (or more likely,
your shoe) upward and forward across the grip tape toward the nose. You do
this just after the tail tap and jump. Fact: The tap and the foot slide
combined are the ollie's essence, your jump determines its height. Step four: Land. Tip: A good thing to remember with any trick is what Is call the "box" or
"square". Imagine yourself in an invisible box or square the size of your
skateboard. Always keep your body centered above your board and in this
box or square. I find it helps you to land tricks because a common mistake is
to lean too far backward or forward which makes you fall or land the wrong way.
I do this alot.
Fakie Ollie
It is just like a regular ollie, but you are moving backwards. So first
learn how to move backwards good. Now to do the fakie ollie, you need to
put your feet like a regular ollie but your backfoot in a regulat
becomes the front foot. So now u need to lean towards the back of the
board so you will balance out.now pop an ollie, rember to level it out
fast if u are jumping on to something.
The Pop Shuv-It
To perform the pop shove-it, roll at a moderate to fast speed and assume
the ollie position. Ollie upwards, but instead of sliding your leading
foot to the nose - as you would for a straight ollie - keep it near the
center of the board. Push the tail slightly with your trailing foot to
the heel side and guide the board around with your leading foot. As the
leading end of the board swings around, "catch" it with your trailing
foot, and land.
The Kickflip
To do a kickflip ride at a comfertable speed and put your feet in the ollie
position but with your front foot back a bit so your toes are beside the
toe edge of the board. Bend slightly, ollie, and begin to kick your front
foot outwards. Catch the board when it flips around completely. Land it
with your feet over the bolts and bend to absorb the impact.
Hints: To do a Kickflip over an obstacle do a kickflip but kind of push
your board forward, it helps to clear the obsticle.
Fakie Kickflip
Use same steps as a fakie ollie, remember to angle your foot..Now with the
fakie kickflip, u need to lean back towards the board, that's the most
important part. Now just do a kickflip and land smooth. This is a very cool
trick.
The Heelflip
To do a heelflip ride at a comfertable speed and put your feet in the ollie
position but with your front foot forward a bit so your toes are just a
little over the top edge of the board. Bend slightly, ollie, and begin to
kick your front foot forward and out. Catch the board when it flips
around completely. Land it with your feet over the bolts and bend to
absorb the impact.
The 180's
The frontside 180: approach your obstacle at the same position as a ollie
but keep your foot a little higher and farther up the board. Snap a ollie
and turn your shoulders 180 degrees frontside and your rest of the body
should follow.
The backside 180: approach your obstacle the same way as if you were going
to ollie it but you foot a little higher near the nose. Snap a ollie and
turn your shoulders 180 degrees backside and land smoothly.
The 50-50 Grind
Aproach you obstacle at a parallel angle and quickly snap an ollie and try
to land on the obstacle with the edge of the truck on the curb directly
behind your wheels on the truck so you aren't grinding in the middle of
the truck but on the very edge. Thus producing easy balance and long
grindage.
The frontside 180-kickflip
To do a Fronside 180-Kickflip, ride at a comfertable speed with your feet
in a kickflip position but positon your front foot a litte farther back.
Bend slightly and lean back. Start to turn 180 and when you are about 20
degrees kickflip and bring your front foot out a little farther then you
would for a kickflip. It'll probably spin correctly, you will have to work
on the flipping alot. Turn your body 180 and catch the board when it is
fully spun. Land with your knees bent and your wieght centered over
your board.
hints: I found it easiest to try doing them fakie to get the flip of
the board right. That helps you to lean back which is probably the most
important key to unlocking this hard trick.
The 360-kickflip
You want to start out at a low speed on these. Ride and put your feet
basically the same postition as a kickflip but a little more near the tail
at first. It's easier to spin that way, but once you learn them good you
might wanna move your foot up near the nose. When you are riding snap a
kickflip but push you board backwards with you backfoot and kinda kick it
forward with your front foot thus producing the 360 part to it.
The Nose slide
Approach your obstacle at a moderate speed and snap a 180 with your
foot near the nose but only turn 90 degrees and land on your obstacle
with your nose applying weight to your nose and leaning back thus making
you slide well unless there's a lot of wax. To land just bring your tail down and twist your shoulders and you will
come off at a 90 degree angle and ride away and BRAG to your friends.
The tail slide
Approach your obstacle and snap a frontside 180 but only 90 degrees. Land
on the curb, bench, etc. with your tail and apply weight on your tail so
you stay on and slide.
